Library Boards are the legal authority for libraries, responsible for decision-making and oversight, advocating for the library in the community, and working with the library CEO and staff.
The Front of Yonge Public Library Board is responsible for developing our Library’s policies and working with the CEO to oversee the operation of the library. The Board is composed of volunteers appointed for up to four years by the Front of Yonge Township Council. Most are members of the general public, with one Councillor appointed as the Township’s representative.
Regular Board meetings are held ten times a year, traditionally on the last Monday of each month, except in July and December. Members of the public are welcome to attend Library Board meetings (see link below for guidelines). The meetings are held in person at the Front of Yonge Public Library.
Delegations or individuals wishing to make a presentation to the Board must adhere to the policy guidelines (see link below).
